Lipantitlan Campaign Semi-Immersion Tactical 2011 Organized by the In Partnership with Primer Battalon and Sponsored by Crossroads of Texas Living History Association November 11-13, 2011 Lipantitlan Campaign will be unlike any other Texas Revolution event in recent years. This bivouac experience will take place on 400+ acres of pristine South Texas property in San Patricio, including the site of the original November 1835, Battle of the Nueces Crossing. For the first time, participants will have the opportunity to walk the same ground that these men did 176 years ago. You do not want to miss this event! The event will feature: · Mobile bivouac camps for both Texians and Soldados combatants. · A fixed camp location representing the town of San Patricio for Civilians and Non-combatants. · Flexible & Immersive Tactical Scenarios. Water will be provided for these camps. However, due to the nature of the event and pristine condition of the site, participants will be expected to dig latrines during the event. Participants are also encouraged to prepare rations, appropriate to the time period that may be easily carried during the weekend, e.g., boiled beef and cornmeal, which are accurate rations for this campaign. All participants will be expected to portray one of the following impressions during the weekend: Texian Militia under Ira Westover; 2nd Activo Compania of Tamaulipas, (Presidial Lancer or Garrison Troops); or a Civilian Colonist of San Patricio. All first person characters must be approved by the event organizer, prior to the event. No women will be allowed to portray soldiers; however, civilian women may accompany the combatants as camp followers. This event will be a military tactical with a limited number of civilians portraying the colonists of San Patricio. There will be two scripted scenarios. Between these two scenarios, the event will be a Tactical. The Rules for the Tactical are as follows: 1) Tactical will begin at 12:00am, November 12. 2) When shot, you must remain dead or captured until the skirmish is over. 3) All prisoners must be exchanged before returning to combat. 4) A break will begin at 12:00pm and last until 12:30pm. During this time a cease-fire will be in effect. 5) The object of the tactical shall be to kill, capture, overrun or occupy the enemy at all costs. 6) Camps and personal property shall not be considered as confiscated goods and will not be damaged or taken. 7) All real injuries should be reported with a call for “Medic”, causing the event to be suspended. 8) Event officers will have an Incident Command Structure in place should any incidents occur. This is not an invitation only event. However, all participants will be expected to follow the guidelines and direction of the Event Organizer. No Exceptions Shall Be Made. Please keep safety in mind at all times and be sure to drink plenty of water.
The Registration Fee for this event is $15.00. This fee is payable as pre-registration or as a walk-on registration. The first 20 participants to register will receive a free event T-shirt. Due to processing time, pre-registration will be cut off by October 1, 2011. All participants that register after this date will be considered walk-on registrants and will not be eligible for a free event T-shirt.
